National Flag

On March 6, 1883, King Gojong enacted and promulgated the Taegeukgi of this ‘Taegeuk and 4 Trigrams’ as the national flag by order of the king. As the government of the Republic of Korea was established on the 15th of the month, the need to unify the production method of the Taegeukgi increased. On October 15, 1949, the government confirmed and announced the method of making the flag through the 「Announcement on Manufacturing Methods of the National Flag」.

I want to instill a sense of identity and pride as a Korean to the second generation of Koreans.

I hope that more second-generation Koreans and foreigners will visit Korea by sharing information about Korea and communicating with each other. So, I look forward to being able to promote Korea to the world even more.

In Baekbeom Kim Gu’s book <My Wish>

The direction I want our nation to move forward is never to conquer the world by force or dominate it economically. Only with a culture of love and a culture of peace, we can live well by ourselves and let all mankind live righteously and joyfully. No nation has ever done this, so don’t say it’s a fantasy. Since no one has done this in the past, our nation is trying to do it. When we realize that this great work has been left for us by God, our nation will finally find its own way and recognize its own work.

I hope that the young men and women of our country will abandon the small and narrow thoughts of the past, open their eyes to the great mission of our nation, and willingly cultivate their minds and develop their strength. If all the young people exert their efforts in this direction with this spirit, I am convinced that our nation will develop internally to such an extent that others rub their eyes and look back in less than 30 years.
