Welcome to LearnKorean.zone – Korean You Learn by Speaking

LearnKorean.zone is a place where you learn Korean the way it is actually used — by speaking it.

Many Korean learning websites focus heavily on memorizing grammar rules or studying vocabulary lists. While those are important, real language learning happens when you begin to speak. Our approach is simple: learn Korean expressions you can say out loud and use in real conversations.

At LearnKorean.zone, you will practice everyday Korean phrases, natural expressions, and common conversations used in daily life. Instead of learning complicated explanations first, you start by listening, repeating, and speaking Korean in practical situations.

This method helps you build confidence and develop natural speaking habits. Step by step, you will begin to understand how Koreans actually talk and communicate.

Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who wants to improve your speaking skills, this site is designed to help you use Korean in real life — not just study it.

Start speaking Korean today and discover how enjoyable learning Korean can be.

About Me

Hello, and welcome.

I was born and raised in Korea and graduated from university in 1992. In 2000, I moved to the United States and have been living in California with my family.

I currently live in Torrance, California, and work as a teacher at the Peninsula Korean School, part of the Korean Institute of Southern California. I enjoy helping students and families learn Korean language and culture in practical and meaningful ways.

In 2024, I received a certificate from ITKLI Yonsei University for completing the Online Korean Language Instructors program (Circle 43).

Also in 2024, I received the “Baekbeom Award” in the 2nd KOSAA Baekbeom Ilji Book Review Writing Contest.

My goal is to help students feel more confident speaking Korean in everyday life while also introducing them to Korean culture, history, and values.

I am also passionate about helping second- and third-generation Korean Americans, especially mothers who can understand Korean but do not feel confident speaking it. I want to help them use Korean naturally in everyday life with their children and family members, so that Korean language and culture can continue to be passed down to the next generation.
